GIGABYTE - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 VISION OC- Can this game?

Go to solution Solved by Kilrah,

A 3080 is a 3080.

Hi All, I was lucky enough to pickup this card, but in my haste to beat the bots I didn't realize this card was marketed for creators.  Did I screw up, or will this card also game?  I am trying to build a gaming PC for my wife, first time doing so for me, appreciate the help!

The RTX 3080 can easily blow any game out of the water, it will crush modern games. No need to worry about it not gaming since its an RTX 3080.

my signiture was cool, but its a lie now

Oh no, not at all. It's a terrible terrible card and it's waaaaay worse than my GTX 1060 3GB card, which, being the nice person I am, will happily trade you for so your wife will not be mad at you 🤣

(Kidding, lucky wife, she gets a shiny near top-of-the-line gaming card)

Thanks! I think I should have clarified my question.  I know its a great card, but since its marketed for productivity, does that mean it will have different drivers that a gaming card would?

If your power supply is up to the task, yours good to go.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

To add to what's already been said - not only is a 3080 like any other in terms of capability, it's also one of the most aesthetically pleasing versions out there.

It looks nice.

Compared to my TUF, which literally looks like it's road kill (has tire marks on it), the Vision is BEAUTIFUL.

Indeed, that's a beautiful card.  I'm hoping I can get one of those (or a 3070 version) sometime next year to match the rest of my white-silver set-up.  By the way, I've seen a reddit post saying that you can pry off the purple stripe on the edge with some heat, such as from a hair dryer.

Thanks, wasn't sure how that worked.  I have an 800 watt PSU, with the rest of the system here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gJ89dD

The manufacturer site recommends at least 750W so I guess im cutting it close.
