Help with buying a new GPU!? 3:

Citrusflavour01

I just sold my GPU and I have $1700 AUD to spend on a new one. I'm considering getting the 3070 but I will unfortunately have to well over pay on ebay if I do 😕

I need a GPU for getting high refresh rates on my 1440p monitor. I want to finally be able to play Cyberpunk at max settings and some other games. The issue right now is I will have no PC until I get a new GPU so I can't just wait for stock to come in or wait for a good deal. Oh and my monitor is 144hz so I want to stay around the 120-144fps territory as much as possible.

Upgrade in the making

MY CURRENT PC - GIGABYTE B550 Aorus Pro V2 | Ryzen 9 5900X | Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB 3200MHz C16 | RTX 3070 Ti VENTUS 3X | 1TB Sabrent Rocket 4.0 NVMe | 1TB SAMSUNG 980 NVMe 3.0 | RM750x Corsair | Corsair iCUE H150i Elite CAPELLIX | Corsair iCUE 7000X RGB

my advise might be that money might be better spend on cloud gaming might or just wait its not worth it rn how high gpus are(well if u have an igpu) most not gonna be close to 144hz but hey maybe gpu might get cheaper

Hi im new to the forums but interested in helping , what is the card u just sold im also in australia? . Also u must consider that if your upgrading a gpu for just one game u must factor is it worth the absurd costs ,specialy in australia atm for a game that is clearly not 100% right atm and for down the track i have a 1660 super and i find that card to be good best at 1080p but since your going for 1440 i would hold on for awhile to wait for some stability in both gpu prices and cyberpunk if thats your main goal but also maybe research price for fps/ performance between the 3070 and 3060 ti.

I assume you sold the 1660 Ti that was in your signature. However this is a really bad time to try to buy a new GPU as previous people have pointed out. You will either have to go through scalpers or learn how to use bots to secure a card. I also have no idea what the market is like in Australia so hopefully for your sake it's a lot better than here in North America.

Well I'm in Canada so we're a relatively small market so we get jack all. Newegg Canada has nothing and Amazon Canada has offerings starting from $1200 going up to $5000 while Ebay pricing is $870-$1300 for the RTX 3060 (all CAD funds).

Bad idea, now you have no GPU and may have to overpay for a new one, or wait a very long time for the right deal.
