Some local blokes decided they wanted to do Dream Theater, and I have to say they did pretty well.

It's a bit heavier and a little less melodic, but Dream Theater is still the obvious comparison.

Damn... They sound even more similar then I remembered. 

I guess Dream Theater isn't the worst band to emulate, but it has to be done correctly.

 

I'm listening to Degenerate by Draped Urn. Unfortunatly, it's not on YouTube. All there is when you search for it is a review in Portuguese.

When it comes to the whole folk/blues/americana scene I was always drawn to the two extremes. Eiher the soft, minimalistic sound of Hozier (and now Bahamas) or the down, dirty and rough sounds of delta blues.

Maybe with some silly blue grass thrown in.

 

Also, living in the South sounds amazing. I've loved it pretty much every time I've been to the Sounth.
