I'm making similar predictions. When I saw how little power the 750 and 750 Ti used I started wondering if they'd be going on a power saving path rather than as powerful as possible.

Why powersaving when we need powerful, the electricity bills are low for us all and we all have money. We need good GPUs for 4K resolution gaming.

The improvement between the 9800 GTX and the GTX 280 was 53% on lower resolutions.

he said last two generations, that means the 600 and 500 series, but we all wish that there would be a jump as big that, nvidia will not do it as it would cost them a lot more money these days to create a jump which is that crazy.

Will not even be close to that if you look at the past few years, its like they will try to save power as a fall back.

Saving power is extremely important IMO, the lower the TDP the lower the cards temps, the further we can push them :D

Either way, experimenting with power saving techniques is a good transition phase. Right now we're having to choose between extreme performance and saving power. Now we're going to be matching (or exceeding hopefully) that performance with less power, imagine what comes after :P

And more importantly than being pushed by end users, as the card makers learn ways to make cards more efficient we might be looking to a future where cards are not only more powerful, but less consuming.

They renamed Volta to Pascal and postponed the unified memory architecture, it now gonna be part of Pascal, not Maxwell. :(
