Jam WiFi with a Nokia. TF?

Um, help..

When I turn on WiFi on my phone (Nokia 8.1), my whole internet goes down (Chromecast stops, PCs loosing connection ect.).

Then when I turn it off again it all comes back.

What can cause that?

I just formatted my phone because of that.

If you have any help or questions please put them here 😄

Thanks in advance, Simon

I am very confused, next time you might want to put this in networking, (don't make a new thread, a mod will most likely move it over there!)

Oh. Sorry. New here I'll put it there instead.

Might be a bad WiFi chip. It could be barfing out random noise, which would potentially lock up other networked stuff, and just jam the network. Had this happen semi-frequently back in the days of WiFi 802.11 B.

Yeah, but it's only on my own network.

So, if you connect to someone else's network, it doesn't jam everything?

Try resetting all of your networking equipment: Modem, router, AP's, etc.

I just switched the router, because of that, but I have not touched the fiber thingy, and I do not have any APs

You set up a manual IP on the phone itself and it most likely is same one as your network gateway (aka your router).

No, I can't find the setting on my phone. But I just factory reset it. Should be on automatic by default.

Ok, then just you report it. We don't see all that is posted. You can either help, or be part of the problem.
