Bad performance on gaming laptop

Denyl

A friend bought a gaming laptop these days and has some issues regarding his FPS in games.

Dota 2 for example, he's getting max 120 fps
His laptop is an ASUS ROG Zephyrus S15 GX502LWS so it uses an RTX 2070 Super, the screen has 300mhz so it should not run like this. For example, we saw that this game should get almost double the fps on ultra,
We tried to force the gaming gpu to be used on Nvidia Control Panel and from Windows, no change. The laptop runs on High Performance, cable is connected. The same. The only thing that we cannot do is enabling XMP ( we did not find it in Bios). UserBenchmark says that the Ram is not running at max speed.

Any idea what could be done?

What does this mean?

Most games won't even run close to '300' fps with that GPU...

The 300hz are merely a marketing gimmick, doesn't mean the GPU can pull of that kind of refresh rates.

I just hope the monitor has Gsync...?
