The Torrent

16gb.

Does it seem like theres enough things to fill 16gb rn? Why do the numbers not add up and how to see actual numbers?

You've got a bunch of applications open.

Teams - using ~400MB, do you need it?

Desktop Window Manager - using not too much RAM, but a decent chunk of GPU

Razer Synapse and subprograms - need it or no?

Steam Client Webhelper - need it or no?

uTorrent - last I checked, that doesn't need to be open 24/7 (though I could be wrong)

Start - wth is that?

Also, there's Windows services that will probably use ~2GB or so.

if u add up the numbers though i bet it dont add up to 16gb.

my concern isn't trying to cut down on ram usage. Its finding out whats using it.

and in responce anyway

Teams yes

desktop windows manager - ok?

synapse, yes need it nothing functions without it

steam client webhelper, yep

utorrent needs to run 24/7 yep idk who u checked with but leaving it running is how seeding works

start - is an essential windows application... and its literally using 23mb ur onto small numbers now. even synapse was all of them total only using 100mb,

windows service ok give them 2gb it still dont add up.

Did you check to see if you have malware/viruses on the system eating up resources???

The first 4 after COD BO CW are eating up about 2GB.

You do have a lot of applications running. Click on performance, then click on memory. I'm guessing the cache value will be high and if it is there is nothing to worry about. Also click on resource monitor and see what that says.

in the screen shot above I'm only running 5 tabs in chrome and steam. If I were also running the top programs from your list I get 14GB in use.

Well that's good. Is there is a possibility of it being a memory leak with the game??

I added the first few that I am not running to my total. So that is what I would be using if I also ran utorrent and the game for example.

Yea so you have 7GB cached. That is old programs/files that remain in memory in case they are used again. When a currently running program needs more memory the OS will bite into the cached ram. You only need to be concerned about the green bar which is showing 8GB in use.

Also I'm pretty sure the cached part of RAM use fills up when you put your computer to sleep.

You're at close to 9GB right now in the screen shots, no? 8982MB in use. Didn't know if the game was affecting it or not with it being opened, which appears not to be after replying to other posts.

Seems like you have a lot of background tasks open using up RAM.

Ok, your problem isn't necessarily the apps running in the background (although removing some of them can help), its the standby memory that is the problem, all that blue that is swallowing up what free memory you have left. There are different apps you can install that will free that up for you. Ranmap from microsoft is one of them except you can't run it on a schedule like you can with others like process lasso from bitsum.com. I use it myself to keep the standby memory clear every 15 minutes. There are tons of other tweaks you can make as well.
