A 5-1 PWM splitter shorted and broke. (Hope I Am Right)

I know, I know I got a 5 in 1 4pin pwm plug and it shorted the centre pwm connector since when I plug into it my rgb fan flickers and refunses to spin so I unplugged a cpu fan (got 2) and wait for my new mobo

Everything running fine just that one plug is dead so yea I am in idiot.

I bought a similar on on amazon that still works great. Looks just like it but connects directly to the power supply. You could have an issue if you plug to many fans to the motherboard. If one fan is not working, I would not use the adapter, there are no wires, it's all traces on the pcb. Chances are that another one will fail or short out a fan or worst case, cause a fire if shorted to ground (see NZXT H1 Fire).

I did my new board has right amount of ports and everything besides that pwm connctor works fine so yea I will wait and get a splitter not that board ones that cpu coolers somtimes have.

How many and what fans did you connect? Its more than likely you went over the 1A limit.

5 which is should be able to. it has 5
