$10k USD Build Budget HELP

Agreed @Downkey, however it won't have as many PCI-E lanes, more than dual channel memory, etc.

But for gaming, a 5950X definitely at this budget. Plus considering he's spending $10K, I'd assume upgrading to another 10K machine 4 years down the line isn't going to be an issue @SkittelsScott.

isnt the xe a coffee lake? exactly basiclly you will replace it anyway

true I was just giving more options but I think he should acually go with a 5950x and a strix 3090 with full custom liquid loop and the o11 case with 2 4tb nvme and the rog crosshair x570 mobo.

Basically @TTV BigRecoiilz what we are trying to say is that: your budget is so big it really doesn't matter what we tell you, because it prob won't get close to 10K, unless we start talking about HEDT platforms, which again, aren't ideal even at this budget. Maybe with new releases of Threadripper and such, but currently - big no.

Take out one NVMe drive if 3% over budget is too much.

The original brief specified "would love tons of NVME storage".

if you want something closer to what you are looking for you actually have to provide a more detailed Specification. Sadly I don't RT(F)PM.

1. A 5950X should be enough and would obviously destroy any threadripper in gaming, but since at higher resolution the difference gets smaller and more cores from a threadripper are also going to help you in your video editing workloads, a 24-Core 3960X is the sweetspot for you as it has decent clock speeds with a turbo upto 4.5 and also because a 32-Core will be too overkill.

2. 64GB of RAM should be more than enough and 3200MHz CL14 is the way to go at this capacity for system stability. You can get 128 Gigs but only if you want to make it overkill or hit your budget.

3. Storage is upto you but since you wanted plenty, I went for a 2tb fastest drive on the planet accompanied with the largest capacity NVMe.

4. At this budget, nothing but a 3090 makes sense.

5. Top of the line motherboard, a high-quality and highly-rated 360mm AIO, and a 1200W Titanium certified PSU for a quieter system. Oh! and your case choice is superb.

Oh. Heavy gaming like GTA V, Elder Scrolls, Watch Dogs 2, and Fortnite. I also have a quad monitor setup so I need processing power for multiple applications while gaming as well.

Honestly I’d say unless your playing 4 games at once, just use one REALLY GOOD monitor. The Samsung G9 is solid and curved so u would still be surrounded

For 10k you can literally do anything and everything... zero restrictions in any form... Feels like a flex post tbh but do you.

1) the 5950X performs better than the 10980XE

2) threadripper is significantly worse than those two unless you're doing rendering, machine learning, other other computationally heavy programs.

3) SLI sucks, don't bother with multi-GPU these days

4) Use an optane 905P as your storage drive if you want the absolute best performance. Sequential speeds don't really matter anymore, it's the random 4k speeds that are the bottleneck.

5) Anything even close to $10k means you're getting server grade or datacenter hardware. Yes you can spend more money on ECC and server motherboards and SSDs but they will perform worse and cost a lot more when you won't even need or use any of the features they offer. It's like buying a $4 million dollar mining excavator instead of a $3 million dollar bugatti thinking it will go faster because it costs more. More money =/= always better, they're for different applications.

Corsair Ax1600i.

1600W PSU, best there can be.

Except for the EVGA SuperNova 2000G+ or whatever it's called.

I don't want to do any custom liquid cooling. Most I'll go is an AIO for the CPU.
