Why do games' servers reset at 4am?

I am curious because both genshin impact asia server and valorant asia server resets daily quests at 4am

The daily quests have to reset at some point on the day, that is why they are daily after all.

What other time should they choose, if 4AM is so silly?

It's a subtle (well, maybe not 😉 ) hint that gamers shouldn't be gaming 24/7 and get some sleep before going to school the next day 😛

Unlike the others I want to give a proper explanation of why this is done.

The game servers usually reset anywhere from 4AM to 8AM almost every game has their resets set between those times, and there's several reasons as to why they are using those times to reset their servers.

 

The first reason is the most important one, there will be the least amount of players on the servers, making the reset more smoothly, and making sure there's no problems while resetting.

The second reason is, that's when people are asleep or atleast the normal ones, that way it causes less confusion, when you wake up your new quests are ready.

It might be 4AM for YOU but it's almost always midnight where the server actually lives from what I've seen or they reset at 0:00 GMT
