Need some help understanding SFP, Bought some cards and a 3Com swtich.

So Long story short. My understanding of SFP is very limited. I bought some Mellanox Cards a couple years ago to connect my UnRaid Server to my desktop. They worked okay for a little bit but stopped using them. I just bought a 48 POE Managed 3com Switch off ebay and I want to know what I have to do to make the two work together like they should.

 

 

The Cards are Mellanox MNPA19-XTR
The switch is a 3COM Switch 4800G 48 Port PWR PoE Switch 3CRS48G-48P-91

Best I can tell that switch is only SFP ports which means they are limited to 1Gbps and not 10Gbps SFP+ like your Mellanox cards so you'll either need a 10Gbps capable switch to use SFP+ in for 10G or to buy 1G SFPs
