Whats a good budget-type desk?

So, I was thinking I would slowly buy things for my setup until eventually hopefully this summer, I would be able to have a full setup. First thing I would need obviously is the desk. Are there any other good cheap desks other than the Linnmon from IKEA that you recommend. For the most part thats the desk I see being recommended, but i thought i might as well ask if theres something else.

 

 

PS; Im sorry if this is in the wrong category I just wasnt sure where to put it.

Linnmon is still a great choice:

But my go to for budget desks is almost always second hand desk.

I got a large IKEA Galant (corner) desk for 15 euros. It does have a blemish on it (from the sun altering the color of the desk, except for one part), but otherwise is fine and sturdy for a low price.

Very odd question.  Most people buy desks after going out and sitting at them at a store.  Are you asking to buy a desk sight unseen based on other people (who are different sizes, body types, heights, and comfort levels, etc) comments?

 

Go to Ikea and check out all of their 500 desks, or Office Depot, Staples, Target, Walmart, etc.

Yeah, The closest Ikea is an hour away, so my plan was to buy and pick it up but I'll consider that.

You're going to be at Ikea AFTER you buy it online?  Why not go to Ikea and look at the desks and then buy one you like?

There are cheap particle board desks on Amazon for like $50.  They'll work fine until you get something that fits your motif.  Note that they won't be perfectly stable and they can't hold a ton of weight (like, human weight; any typical computer/monitor setup should be fine), but they won't collapse out from under you or anything.

I dont even have an ikea near me, I had too go buy it unseen at walmart. If you are gonna buy unseen, measure where you wanna put the desk, and find a desk of suitible size for you, and the space requirements.

Don't get any of the linnmon desks. They are filled with cardboard and are very susceptible to bowing. A common alternative from Ikea are the normal round legs and a Gerton top. 

 

I would suggest going to a dedicated office furniture store, sometimes they have cheap used desks that came from a renovated office

I just bought two trestles from Ikea ( https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/finnvard-trestle-with-shelf-white-80150095/ ) and a desk top ( https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/linnmon-tabletop-black-brown-00251338/ ) to put on top of them.

 

 Cost me about $100 CAD and I have a desk that I can customise the height and is easy to take apart since none of the three components are attached to one another.

System Specs: Second-class potato, slightly mouldy
