Htpc cases are designed to fit in better with your other devices in your media center.

I have a soft spot for these old HTPC cases. There was a brief time when it was cheaper to build a PC with a blu ray drive than it was to buy an actual Blu Ray player (remember that a launch price PS3 at $599 was the cheapest Blu Ray player option when it came out). It was doubly fun as it coincided with the earliest cablecard tuners for PCs. You could make a heck of an HD home theater powerhouse in a little case like this.

 

Of course now all you need is a $30 FireTV stick or Chromecast and you're set. Maybe a NAS.
