What program to use to check RTX 3070 fan speeds?

Mark Kaine

Please anything but Gigabyte software?  I'm not installing AIB software ever, outside of Afterburner and Precision maybe...

The problem is Afterburner only shows "fan speed" and GPU-Z shows only 2 fans, but my card has 3 fans... they're also all spinning but I'd like to check this in game without having to open my case and basically crawl under the GPU to check.

Shouldn't something like GPU-Z show this? I think my version may be old, not sure.

i noticed this too

maybe it's grouped into 2 groups, one of the group has 2 fans that are controlled as one?

fastest way is to touch the hub to stop it gently and observe the tachometer

one of the fan might ramp up to 100% if it detects weird RPM, it's normal i noticed

yeap I thought it could be like that, because they're asynchronous, I suppose one goes in the other direction than the other two... still dumb it could just show the "paired" fans with the same speed then 🤔

honestly they're so silent over the case fans... it's so hard to tell they're on at all.

that's how daishy chained/split fans have been working since forever, even system fans that share the same header

only one fan's RPM is monitored, the other just followed
