PC doesn't start after tweaking BIOS settings

Fuba

Hey Guys,

i have a ryzen 5600x with g.skill ripjaw 3200 dimm 16 gb, msi b550 gaming plus mainboard and a msi gtx 1660s ventus oc xs gpu.

Recently my pc started to get really hot, the cpu and gpu temps rose to 80-90 degrees celsius only while playing dota2 for 10 minutes.

so i google and i think it was on this forum, that somebody said "go into bios settings, change vcore to 1.2 and the dram to 3600"

thats exactly what i did and afterwards my pc didn't start. so, quite after doing this i realised that my ram has only a frequency of 3200 and not 3600.

My question is: is anything broken now or what do i have to do?

If there is somebody who can answer this and help me, that would be really nice.

Clear CMOS. I haven't been able to get the MSI site to work right for me today as far as manuals or I'd send a picture of the page in that.

When you clear CMOS it resets your BIOS to factory settings. XMP and all that would need to be reset to what works for you.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

No you don't need to flash BIOS after you've cleared CMOS. The PC will start with default settings afterwards.

Just touch these 2 pins together with a screwdriver head or anything conductive and hold for a couple of seconds. It will clear the CMOS and should fix your problem.

Then start the PC normally
