Hi guys,

Running:

- ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WIFI)
- AMD Ryzen 5600X
- Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 AIO Cooler
- AMD RX6800 16GB GPU
- 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz ADATA XPG Gammix D10
- 1TB SAMSUNG EVO970 M.2 SSD
- 1TB Seagate HDD
- Fractal Design Meshify C case

This is my first ever AIO, temps seem pretty cool, but believe the 5000 series cpus and 6000 series gpus run hot anyway.

Getting 35-45c CPU idle, 70-80c load

Getting 40-50c GPU idle, 75-85c load

Currently I have the 280mm AIO on the front panel, 1 120mm fan exhaust at the top, 1 120mm fan exhaust at the back (the fractal standards included in the case). Any recommendations? or at those temps would you just leave it?

Realistically the only option is to a) change the layout, b) change the fans, c) increase number of fans - I'm not going to change the AIO as just bought it.

I'd move it top-exhaust.  Namely to keep the air hitting the GPU as cool as possible.

Also, having the tubes on top like that can help introduce trapped air in the system to accumulate there.

See GN's video about AIO placements if you want.

It's a 280 rad. Case doesnt fit a 280 at the top.

Also, I believe the front fans are on backwards; they're exhausting air not intaking it unless Arctic did something unusual with the fans that I dont know about.

AHh, looked like it would fit from the pics to me but I didn't check the actual case.  Good correction, thanks.

Fans are the same configuration as this - sticker side inward to the case

Yeah, default configuration is set-up so the fans are exhaust mode (e.g. blowing air out) .... like for mounting it to the top of the case.

Putting the radiator at the front, you need to flip them around, so they work as intake mode.

Right now, ALL your fans are set as exhaust, and NO intake at all.

Your intake is forced from whatever cracks and mesh ventilations on the case.

Proof in the review the AIO is top-exhaust mounted:

Thanks - first ever AIO so still new.

So should I just flip the fans round? i.e. keep them bolted to the same place but flip them, or should I put the fans on the bracket to the case and the rad onto the fans?

i.e. as I have them now but flip the fans, or change them so it's fan then rad (rather than the now rad then fan)

option 1 being how I have it now but flipped fans

option 2 being like this:

If you go with option #1, yes just flip the fans around, that would be the simplest fix.

Either option works...those ARE the recommended configurations for AIOs.

Mounting the fan before the radiator, or after the radiator makes little to no difference.

Example A:

<-- airflow ---  [Fan] [Rad] [Case]

Example B:

<--- airflow --- [Rad] [Case] [Fan]

FYI, case fans have little arrows on them the to show you the direction the fan blades rotate, and the direction of the airflow.

Question - Is it normal to not feel the air flow on the other side of a AIO radiator while your fans are blowing that direction? | Tom's Hardware Forum

Cheers - swapped round today, fans sound like they're ramping to higher RPM but overall I think around 10c cooler on both gpu and cpu!

Makes sense the overall system it running cooler now.

There is ACTUALLY air coming into the system.

Well, if the fans' RPM are higher, and a bit on the louder side for you, can always adjust the fan profile / curve.
