5820k or a 4770k?

So a certain birdy told me the word was that Ivy-E over Haswell was pointless in most aspects. How about Haswell-E over Haswell? Bad idea or what?

In the case that I should get the 4770k, should I wait for Z97 or does it matter much?

Not pointless if it's a work machine and your doing VMs as you can have a K series processor and still have VT-d plus the RAM support as well as the extra cores so if your just gaming and or streaming a 4670k or 4770k is going to be better because it's cheaper and you get the same performance in games.

I'm looking to buy one and if I don't think the 5820k is worth it, I might as well get the 4770k now since I'm impatient.

Is Z97 worth the wait?

Depends what your usage of the computer is.

It's highly unlikely that it will be a huge difference. I still run a 2700k with no problems.

Well if you want more RAM, and PCIe lanes then go LGA 2011. If you are gaming and editing but don;t need all the RAM nor the PCIe lanes go LGA 1150(4770K). Something better will always come out we won;t know ether it is good or not until we get our hands on it.

th 8350 should be able to hold up until the X97 comes out (4820k was X79 so i wouldnt expect youre getting a 5820k on z97)

I very much doubt that the Haswell-E 5820k's are going to be quad core. But again, it wouldn't be surprising to see either with intels attitude towards core count on 2011

It's not that bad for the person who needs the socket 2011 features like more pci lanes.

Why would they need more PCI lanes unless there doing triple or quads and then in that case if they should be able to afford an extra $200 for a 6 core.
