Need advice for Ryzen Specific RAM for ASRock B450M Pro4 with Ryzen 3000

I'm trying to replicate the build in the LTT video (below) but replacing the GPU with 1660 Super to save cost since I don't game that much and should be ok with 1080P gaming. Might also replace 3600X with 3600 based on the availability. At 5:05 mark in the video, Linus mentions that the Gskill Ripjaws 5 is not a Ryzen specific RAM and I'm worried about getting it since I read on some forums that it has hard time getting to 3200 MHz with ASRock B450M Pro4 used in the build.

Can someone please suggest a Ryzen specific RAM for this MoBo with 3600/3600X? I was thinking of getting Gskill Flare X (https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232767?Item=N82E16820232767 ) since they're marked as Ryzen specific on Gskill's website however I was concerned with the low popularity of the Flare X. I am looking for 3200 MHz only since that's the highest this MoBo supports and CL16 to save cost instead of CL14.

You can try getting 3000Mhz then see if it works. If it works, try overclocking it to 3200Mhz. Ryzen specific ram is pretty bullshit to be honest, just check the motherboard support ram list to see if your ram works. Even if they don't, most still works on the motherboard.

I checked the MoBo QVL and it's pretty old. Doesn't even any of the current RAM models. Checking the QVL on Gskill, most 3200 MHz CL16 are shown compatible with the MoBo.

They're all pretty old models clocked at 2933 MHz. I wanna get a 3200 MHz since MoBo supports 3200 MHz. The MoBo QVL  is just outdated so can't rely on it. That's why asking for people who used this MoBo with this CPU to see what RAM they used.

Was anyone successfully able to boot up with 3200 MHz CL16 RAM on Asrock B450M Pro4 with Ryzen 5 3600/3600X? If yes, please tell me which RAM did you get? I'll just get that to save the hassle since this would be my first build and I'd hate it to not boot up at 3200 MHz when I'm paying for 3200 MHz and MoBo supports 3200 MHz.

'Ryzen specific' is not bullshit when even Linus cares about that stuff. Please don't spam unless you know about the topic.

My HyperX Predator is not Ryzen specific but works like a charm. 3200 CL16..

Have you used it with ASRock B450M Pro4 and Ryzen 5 3600/3600X ?

Nope not ASRock but Asus B450-f and 3600x. ASRock should support it fine, at least with two DIMMs in dual channel.

Yeah it mostly will but I wanna double confirm if anyone has that MoBo. I've heard about some ASRock boards being finicky to some RAM. Plus, it being my first build, I don't wanna screw up anything and then wait another week or two for new parts.

MSI Tomahawk Max is the best B450 board unless you want better onboard audio (in that case Asus Strix models). I understand it's a pain to wait for replacements, maybe someone with that board will tell you which memory they run but maybe you should put ASRock B450M Pro in thread name to attract them in.

Look up QVL lists of RAM's too, not just motherboards. Because ones are tested by motherboard vendor and another by RAM vendor from the other side and they don't necessarily have identical things listed as maybe RAM vendor tested more than motherboard vendor. Which is the case here as G.Skill lists it on their own QVL list.

Looking at G.Skill page QVL:

https://www.gskill.com/qvl/165/170/1564381714/F4-3200C16D-16GFX-Qvl

Your AsRock B450M Pro4 is listed as certified for the RAM from your Newegg link.

You should be good to go with this one.

It should be fine. QVL does not mean anything mostly. They have only limited RAM that they have tested, Mosto f the 3000-3200mhz will work just fine.

Zen 2 need a bios update for b450 boards. But most b450 boards have been bios updtaed. Make sure the box has "Ryzen 3000 Ready" Sticker on it.

ALright. Just that the EVGA 2060 KO is bad and the case does not have good airflow.

ryzen 3's use around 40-50A. Ryzen 5s around 50-70A. my 3700x uses 90A at stock. Ryzen 9s use over 100A. 5950x/3950x little over 150A.
