Different price comparison website gives me the same products for €3,212.13 putting me within budget - keep in mind BF and CM deals - I'm confident I can push this a bit further.

Any comments on compatibility, or alternative suggestions are welcome and highly appreciated!

I have difficulty finding screens that look similar enough but have different specs. I want to run a 1440p 144hz gaming monitor centre with 2 x 2160p 60hz monitors for work / photo or video editing / multimedia purposes. These samsungs seem close enough. Alternative suggestions are more than welcome! Screen budget is <€900 for 3 screens.

Looking forward to your comments!

Cheers,

Ginganinja

would you consider a ryzen 5 5600x? it's better in gaming and cheaper than the i7

I have considered it. It's marginally better - for computing and work purposes the I7 beats it though, and the I7 is currently available where I am. Or am I missing something?

I appreciate the input!

Thanks for thinking along. The 5800x is indeed more powerful than the I7 - 10700KF, also priced >€100 more in the Netherlands. I looked at availability too and with that the chance of a BF or CM deal.

It's a tough decision. I leaned to AMD first - but after watching Linus' vid on the new AMD line, I just wasn't that excited. They've done a great job at catching up, but haven't overtaken Intel imho. Happy to hear thoughts on this though! I've never built an AMD and I do see many of Linus' video's featuring new AMD chipsets.

Thanks for the alternative!

Geez, this community really is fast! I love it!

I'll take your suggestions into consideration. I would still go 5800 > 5600 I think. Which pushes the price tag up by €140. I read about the new zen4's loving highspeed RAM.  Reckon that's worth checking into?

well, get the 5800x. it will be 100 more than the 10700k, but the motherboard will be 100 less. which means equal price for more performance.

3600C16 ram is perfect for ryzen 5000

Future proof but using Intel. Huh i dont understand.

But yeah like many said go for the core monster that now also has per core speeds rivaling Intel.

Also when i have to justify larger expenditures i keep in mind how long it will last, if this PC will last 5 years and it cost you 2000$ thats like about 400 bucks a year.

Altho if needs are not to big, it can even last 10 years easily.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

Care to elaborate? I feel like AMD has done a decent job catching up. I'm not confident AMD will overshadow Intel in the foreseeable future though. The new 5000 series is good, don't get me wrong. But unless you're willing to spend a grand on your cpu - the lesser chipsets are on par if not just under par with intel's price equivalent. Hard to justify the switch imho.

That said; this is what (I think) I know. I'm here for advice, so by all means challenge me on my perceptions. I put together a pc that I feel will suit my needs for a next 4-5 years, based on looking into parts for two days for the first time in 6 years (my last build). I am open to feedback and suggestions!

cheers!

Thanks, i was curious to this. But your reasoning is sound. Its educated and informed. :)

Altho i'm not sure about the inferiority, but i'm not informed enough to make a decision on that tho, so i wont.
