Pixel 4 XL or Galaxy S20 FE?

Elliott Game

Hi, you can vote here BTW: https://www.strawpoll.me/35220364

I'm having a bit of a struggle for choice at the moment, I am from Australia / Australian;

I currently run a Galaxy A70, I like it, except that it's bluetooth seems to be problematic and has issues with music dropping out and the range of it having severely deteriorated over a month. So here I am looking to purchase a phone while sales are on.

With the pixel 4 xl, I was wondering how the battery did, and when looking around at reviews for the S20 FE, I saw that there were many people experiencing issues with the touch screen and sporadic zooming and scrolling.

Please let me know what yous think, it's been a little bit since I've shopped for a phone, and I'm really stunned at this one.

And if there is an alternate that yous would recommend in the price range of these two phones, please feel free to recommend :)

They'll both be the 128GB version

Thanks guys!

I wouldn't bother with something like the Pixel 4 XL. Not an abysmal device, but it's far from great, and while it was better than when it launched it's still been surpassed.

Having felt 120hz on a phone, I don't think I could go back to anything else. My vote goes for the S20 FE, though I'm not sure if you get the Snapdragon or Exynos version.

Any reason for picking the Pixel 4XL and S20 FE in particular?

Which one is better, would depend on your preference of what you want in a phone.

Also think of what you liked/disliked about your A70.

The bettery life, screen and price of the A70 was nice, but I didn't like how the bluetooth has been deteroriating quite badly, I would like to have some decent biometrics too as the biometrics on the A70 seemed a bit janky...

I chose the pixel 4 XL and S20 FE in particular because I could get them around a similar price and seem like a phone I would like, but if you have any other phones you think I should check out please let me know.

I have maybe the S10/S10+ in my eyes, but I'm not too sure

I would lean Galaxy S20 FE, at least if any teething issues have been sorted. The 4 XL will still take better photos overall, but it also won't be as fast and won't last as long on battery. Yeah, ideally you'd get Google's take on Android and its camera chops, but the S20 FE is good enough in areas where it falls short.
