Notifications on mobile?

Go to solution Solved by colonel_mortis,

This isn't supported at the moment, but I am aware that there's demand for it.

Is there a way to get notifications on an android device without the notification going through my email?

In general any app can show notifications. What kind of notification did you have in mind? If you need to trigger the notification remotely, push messages come to mind.

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply

I'm guessing OP is talking about LTT forum notifications specifically.

Ah, I see. I think Chrome has such a feature, but I'm not sure whether the forum supports it.

I used to get a notification in form of a sound, a pop up and a blinking led for each reply, reaction etc...

I very much miss it, but this seems to be more an android issue going from 4.4 to 10 than a forum issue as it also was like that before the recent forum update.

Discord has an option for this on Android, you get a "pop up notification" it's better than nothing, but it doesn't work half of the time which I think again is an android 10 issue because that worked 100% flawlessly on Android kitkat...

Is it okay to resurrect the thread and ask whether there's hope of seeing this feature soon?

They work on some browsers. With Firefox at least. Maybe with Chrome. Definitely not with Safari.

I'm on Firefox for Android and I can't find the option anywhere. Can you help me?

I don't want to set them up, but that's where they should be at.

Oh gosh. Thanks. I had visited that page, but I only saw the per-section notification settings and never bothered to scroll down. Thanks!

I was watching the WAN Show segment about "is it time to switch to Firefox?" and I remembered this thread. I followed your instructions again, turned on notifications, got the browser prompt to accept them, etc.

Then I went and subscribed to push notifications on a couple of random recently active threads.

They got new replies. I got notifications in the forum sidebar. I never got any push notifications though.

I think they're still completely broken on Firefox mobile.

I realize this is either an Invision PowerBoard or a Firefox problem, but I'm thinking it would probably have a lot more power to change things if a forum owner/customer complained about it.

Yeah idk. Sometimes I've gotten them (I have push notifs on too), but most of the time I don't (not using firefox tho).
