should i get a huntsman mini?

I really want a new keyboard. The g213 prodigy served me well, but I need a mechanical keyboard. I was thinking about the hunstman mini because it has the optical switches and all, but my mom won't let me. what should i do?

Why is it bad? It's $120 for a mechanical keyboard with the fastest switches literally possible.

Kevin - You are trying to use a forum to convince your mother to spend $120 on a keyb.  Therefore I dont support anything you are trying to do, to manipulate your mother for an item you think you need.

You need a $120 60% keyboard with optical switches?

 

I don't think anyone needs a keyboard that's missing most of the useful keys, you're going to need a second keyboard for whenever you play anything using the function or arrow keys lmao.

 

It'd be a nice keyboard to pack with a laptop or something but a 60% is one of those things that r/mechkeyboards makes you want until you buy one and figure out you needed those extra keys for tons of games or even just typing something out.

 

Do you even know if you like how those optical switches feel...?

No one needs a mechanical keyboard.

But talk to your mother and tell her you want it for *whatever your reason is*. Works better than us randoms online telling you mother you should get one.

 

Also, have a plan with your old keyboard.

I would assume your mother doesn't want you to get a new board, because your current board is fine and you're better off saving for something else you do need.

If she just flat out says it's too much for a keyboard, ask her how much you can spend on it then come back for suggestions in that price range. Keep in mind even without the "Razer" issues, you generally get what you pay for. A cheap mechanical with fast switches means they had to save money somewhere else. That somewhere else will probably mean components were "cheaped out on" and not last as long as you might hope.

Not saying these are failure prone, but that's just a general statement.
