Any recommendation on what GPU this psu can run?

Honestly what ever gpu you add the cpu would be a bottleneck making it useless and anyways you can't change the psu since most prebuilts use propetriary connection

The PSU is 300W The best you can go with is an 1650 since it doesnt require external power

I plan on getting a I5-2500, or any 2nd/3rd gen I7, since the old I7's here is hard to come by.

You may as well sell the system as usually the price of those cpu's is almost the price of a ebay dell with those specs. I would honestly just let it be and save up for something more recent especially with the new consoles around those older cpu's are gonna finally fall too far behind.

You have 216 watts on 12v. Assuming mb,drives and cpu consume around 60-80 watts, you're left with around 120 watts to play with.

That's enough for a few cards with a single extra 6 pin or 8 pin connector

idle/windows/2d  /  when gaming

RX 5500XT = 12W/125W

RX 560 = 9W/79W
RX 550 = 7W/45W
RX 460 = 13W/110W

R9 270X = 7W/122W
R7 265 = 13W/103W
R7 260X = 4W/93W

GTX 1660 = 8W/125W (peak 135W)
GTX 1660 Super = 8W/110W
GTX 1650 = 8W/80W
GTX 1650 Super = 8W/95W

GTX1060 = 6W/122W
GTX1050Ti = 6W/75W
GTX1050 = 6W/75W

GTX960 = 7W/118W
GTX950 = 8W/103W

GT 1030 would actually be the stupidest choice from the list.

it's low power AND lacks hardware encoder so if he wants to stream some game or record himself even at 720p, he's out of luck. Also it's stupid expensive new, for the performance. I didn't even list it above... yeah it consumes 30-45 watts or whatever, but it's a really bad choice.

RX 460 or 1050ti or 1650 or 1660 super or even 1060 would be way better and smarter choices.  GTX 1060 is a bit power hungry at around 125 watts but you can play with the power budget in MSI afterburner or whatever software you prefer to set it to something like -10 .. -5% and then power drops  closer to 100-110w.

An i5-2500 will raise the cpu power consumption to around 80 watts, so either change the psu, or pick some video card that consumes  less than 100 watts.

You can also downclock processors, reduce the top frequency by around 2-500 Mhz and lower voltage until cpu becomes unstable, then go back a notch, and you'll have low power consumption

And as a tip .. you could try to get a power meter (kill-a-watt and clones) and measure how much whole system consumes - about 90% of what you measure will go to computer components. So, if you see your computer consume 100w , that means around 90w actually went to the components inside (due to the efficiency of the psu)

This will tell you how much headroom you have for video cards..

I don't plan on steaming, but I am playing war thunder at 900p with the high pre-set, using a DDR5 GT-1030.

I'm getting away with 50-60 fps, with the occasional stutters. I want it at 1080p 60fps high or ultra with no fame drops.

you're probably better off looking on ebay for a used i5 6500 business system, and adding a GPU to that.

Those systems can be had dirt cheap, it'll be faster, use DDR 4, and be better in general for very reasonable prices.

I don't plan on hanging on to this pc for long I got off facebook for Php 2000, roughly 40 usd. And availability of any LGA 1150 pre-builds is very scarce. So I'm just using this as a stopgap for now.

I found a I3-3220 for Php 900, and a GTX 950 around php 4000. Would this work?
