4K 60Hz if you don't mind turning down the settings in some games, 1440p144Hz if you're more into competitive games.

But it's a personal preference of course.

1440P and 144-240 hrz.

AOC CQ27G1 27 (make sure its the g2 version and this is probably the best of you could find for less then 500$)

GIGABYTE G27QC (or the flat ips version of that)

LG 27GL83A-B (there is a nano ips version of that monitor that if you have the money should be great)

Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ (which ever version of this that you like the most)

ViewSonic ELITE XG270QG

And a lot more, but those are some of the better ones

It depends what resolution and what games you're going to be playing.

For example, at 1080p on esports titles like Valorant or CS:GO, your 2070 super is easily able to reach 240fps (as long as your CPU can). On more AAA games, like COD MW or BF5, you will be able to get 144fps at ultra quality. At 1440p on those same esports titles, you will still probably be able to reach 240fps, but why would you play them at 1440p anyway? On the AAA titles, above 100fps is likely. 4k, don't expect anything above 60fps. On sightseeing games this will still be a good experience but don't expect anywhere near high refresh rate fps with high settings.

I would suggest a 1440p 144hz monitor for future proofing. You can find some for relatively cheap nowadays so definitely take advantage of that.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.
