Corsair MP600 or Samsung 970 EVO Plus

I'm currently choosing parts for a new budget PC gaming build. For the SSD, I got a choice between a Corsair MP600 SSD or Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD. I've watched benchmarks and seen the specifications of both SSD, with the MP600 having a better write and read speed, and also being cheaper. However, I'm seeing a few comments about MP600 only working for Ryzen 9th gen CPU's, since using other CPU's aren't compatible. Is this correct, and should I go with the 970 EVO Plus instad?
I'm doing a Ryzen 5 3600x build with a 3070.

Huh?  An SSD s compatible with both Intel and AMD, where did you read otherwise?

 

I'd go Corsair anyway.

I've used an EVO 970 and am currently using an MP600 with a 3700x (it works just fine with PCIE gen 4). They are both incredibly fast and you won't really notice a difference in gaming. For a budget build, you can go with a cheaper SSD (Corsair MP600) and you won't really notice a difference in game load times.

 

I personally like to keep my OS drive on a highly rated 1tb NVME drive that I will carry forward between different builds. You can definitely get a way with cheaper, but it gives me the ease of mind. Nothing sucks more than having your main boot drive SSD die on you. Granted, this has only happened once for me back in 2014.

Corsairs MP600 SSD is a PCIe 4.0 NVME while the Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD is a PCIe 3.0 NVME.

 

Intels 10th Gen doesn't support PCIe 4.0, so the Corsair MP600 wouldn't reach those speeds.

 

AMDs X570 and B550 mainboards support PCIe 4.0.

 

So if you have an Intel CPU the MP600 wouldn't be worth it.

For 99.9% of people, PCIe 4.0 won't hit those speeds on an AMD rig.

 

SSD speeds are paper news, total bullshit for most people.
