Either a mouse is trapped in the case or you hear some coil whine.

Nothing to be alarmed about. The current simply becomes audible at certain frequencies.

Deadmau5

Could just be a crappy bearing. Why don't you crack it open and try to narrow it down

Could also be coil whine as @ShrimpBrime said

Can coil whine come from nowhere?

My question is....

Is it a constant squeel where the sound pitch raises and lowers?

The 2 major components that usually produce the most audible "whine" would be a GPU or Power supply.

My 1Kw really screams when I'm benchmarking. Very audible. I've had the PSU some 10 years now. It's always done it.

Well as @Slottr had mentioned, bearings can get noisy too. If it's an old spinner, then yeah they can make some noise.

And if an old spinner starts making noise, you get your data off it and replace it asap.

Can you pin point the noise?

Well, you want to find the location of the sounds. Then you'll know what it is.

Till then, if the PC seems to work normal, then don't worry about it until you can open the case and get a closer ear.

Then it has warranty.

But if the system isnt acting strange and you can read write from the drive without issues, the drive is probably ok.

When a drive fails, it usually makes the system act up.

I have a couple of much older external Seagate drives and they are about 20+ years old, still works. My guess is if it's a high pitched squealing noise, probably coil whine. Once you get your system open and you can pin point the location then you'll be satisfied lol. Anyway, my 980 Ti whines when loading a game, but then stops when playing.

Yeah I have a whole box with older seagate drives some isn't working tho but they are for a project
