eATX Motherboard with 8 RAM Slots?

I'm considering getting a 10900K, which would require a motherboard upgrade.  I'm really having a hard time finding boards with 8 RAM slots.  Are they just very uncommon, or am I just very novice (I am)?

They don't exist for LGA1200.

You're looking at HEDT. Why do you need to upgrade from your 9900KF? It seems more than enough for gaming, really.

8 DIMMs is quite difficult to run as well.

Because they don't exist for consumer platforms. Also that is not a good upgrade over a 9900kf.

I mean, yeah, the 9900KF is perfectly fine.  I just like newer stuff.

max of 2 dimms per memory channel, current mainstream intel and AMD are limited to dual channel, so 4 ram slots, as mentioned for 8 ram slots you have to step up to threadripper or intel hedt

Echo'ing what others said before:

The 10900K has 2 memory controllers and can only support 4 DIMM's. For more than that you'll need to move to X299 (Not reccomended at this point in time, the platform is basically dead), or Threadripper.

Neither of these are superior in gaming/desktop performance, and are geared towards heavily memory/CPU intensive tasks.

You really shouldn't need more than 128 GB of RAM anyways unless you're doing the aforementioned tasks.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Fedora 38 x86_64

Secondary: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Fedora 38 x86_64

Server: AMD Athlon PRO 3125GE, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 ECC, TrueNAS Core 13.0-U5.1

Home Laptop: Intel Core i5-L16G7, 8 GB 4267 MHz LPDDR4x, Windows 11 Home 22H2 x86_64

Work Laptop: Intel Core i7-10510U, NVIDIA Quadro P520, 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Windows 10 Pro 22H2 x86_64

That CPU and all other CPUs on LGA1200 don't support 8 DIMMs which is why that motherboard doesn't exist.

You need to get a threadripper or an older X299 extreme edition motherboard from intel or LGA3647 server motherboards.

Thanks for the answers, guys.  Very helpful, and I learned some things I didn't know.  I'll probably just go with the ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming if and when I choose to upgrade.

LGA 1200 has only Dual Channel memory

if you want 8 ram slots you’ll have to use socket 2011
