I7 10700k vs r7 3700x at very close price

The ryzen line up is over priced where I'm from

R7 3700x is only cheaper 20 to 30usd compared to the i7 10700k. My pc is used for gaming ms office and other light programs. I currently have a gtx1070 planning to upgrade to a 3070 or 3080. Would it be better to spend the extra 20usd for a i7 10700k?

Considering your use case and what you're planning on upgrading to, I'd go for the 10700K, though a 10600K would also work just fine.

If you're just gaming, a 10600k is decent and performs similarly to the 10700k in games as they do not scale up to 8 cores.

but strictly between these two, the 10700k is slightly faster in gaming, but again a 10600k is more than enough.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad. 

 

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

 

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

If there is only a 20 usd difference I would go for the 10700k

What about motherboard price? B450 vs Z490?

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

mind the motherboard price difference too, you can get the 3700x oced on a board under $100 (b450-a pro max) but the cheapest z490 is around 150-160, a good "budget" one like the gaming plus is $190
