That's too much damn talk and no concrete price range announced. I'm sorry but articles like this do nothing but convince me further than Oculus it's just another stupid fucking gimmick like 3D.

Just imagine playing BF4. Jumping out of a heli with your squadmates.

Meh.. I can see better implementation in ARMA in which you can actualy turn your head around already without moving yor hands and weapons with it. +realistic huge enviroment.

The Rift actually works though. Lol

Actually works is not the same as "consumers actually want". I have no interest in VR gaming, there's no compelling reason for me to spend any of my money or enthusiasm in this at all. To me this is a great show off feature worthy of science museum exhibits next to the static electricity ball thing that makes your hair stand up but thats it. It's a gimmick, just like 3d or motion controls, only this one gets a lot more press among PC enthusiasts cause GabeN and Carmack are behind it but to me this is as unwanted and stupid as the Wii mote.

Well pretty much what everyone else said.

"Affordable" could mean anything. Affordable for me would be ~$100-$150.

BF4 in it's current state can't support the Rift (based on it's game engine structure)

we would have to hope DICE adopts it and adds support when it's a released product

If you were the only consumer, your statement of "consumers actually want" would make sense and hold true.  But since you are not the only consumer, you would be better off just saying 'you' don't have any interest in this and move on.

However, I am totally interested in this tech and hope it does come to prices more appealing to the rest of us consumers; like the Electrostatic Plasma Ball With Dancing Light :o

Actually, Star Citizen is looking to be the first game where joystick users get an advantage over mouse users, exactly because of Oculus head tracking. So for anyone interested in that game, it is not only attractive for VR enthusiasts, but also for competitive reasons. It is already working, albeit in a modified Star Citizen install "hacked" to let you fly around.

As for the rest of your posts, less shitposting, k thanks.

How have Oculus solved the controller issue? You can't very well see a mouse and keyboard with the VR headset on, right? I can see how it would work in conjunction with a "gun controller" and something like the Omni for FPS games but is that it?

I don t know any one who look at their kb/mouse when playing,

also some can type without looking at the kb so i don t see a problem here.

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.

True, yet you also cannot offer me an unbiased opinion proving real interests, specially not here in the PC Gaming land that is LTT. So without conceding, we shall both wait and see the appeal once this is more than just hype and little else.
