I also can’t figure out what screw heads they are. Can you tell from that picture?

They're not screws, they're rivets. They're "permament" fasteners used to assemble cases. You can remove them, but you have to dril them out meaning you destroy the rivit and would have to put in your own if you wanted to reattach it.
