Great Idea, Hear Me Out

So, what if on mini itx mobos, we could put in the ram like usual, but, after you do that, it has the ability to fold down, or just make the dim slots like longer m.2 slots, could this work? does it exist already? can i modify a mobo to do this?

So... You want mini ITX boards to use SODIMM memory with SODIMM slots (like those on a laptop)?

What would be the benefit of them folding down, usually ITX it's about horizontal space not vertical space since the CPU cooler would be taller than any ram.

If space is that tight, it makes more sense to use SODIMMs with horizontal mounts like in laptops

As @minibois mentioned this already exists but either way the problem is typically the height of the cpu cooler unless you also have a laptop-like cooling system.

There is also low profile ram if for some reason normal ram gives you clearance problems.

ITX motherboards with SODIMM slots already exist. Just google "thin mini itx motherboard" and you'll find some.

on ITX systems I think it would make sense to mount DIMMS horizontally on the back of the board.
