Hello guys, hope i post this in the right section, so i upgraded yesterday from Gtx 1070 ti oc gigabyte windforce 3x to Rtx 2080 super evga black, the thing i noticed it runs way hotter than the previous, the best example i can give, in ac odyssey i sat around with fan speed 28% and it got to 65 degrees most of the times, with the new one i get 70-73 degrees with the fans at 75%, and im still on 1080p, the only difference are the graphic settings which are all on max! Should i get more fans for the case, or should i get a bigger one? Are these temps ok?

It is totally normal and as expected.

You don't need to do anything.

Higher power card uses more power, therefore runs hotter. The nvidia 2000 series is known for running hot, while pascal ran cool.

Temperature is normal, everything is normal.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

So, 75% fan speed is optimal to use?

depends on ur noise tolerance, personally i go with 0 or 90%

lower the fan speed and keep the tempp under 83c (thermal  throttle limit)

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

Waht's the rpm with fans at 75%? Also undervolting should do something, have you tried it out?

Not related to your question but I curious, how much does 1070ti OC clock? I have the none-OC version and wonder if the factory overclock is any better than my manual result

And yeah, higher performance card run hotter, RTX 2000 series is also based on 12nm which isn't that smaller than 16nm in the GTX 1070ti, it need to run hot in order to deliver that extra performance - if you want to improve temperature, one of the easiest way is to crank up your aircon. I can run my 1070ti clock to over 2000mhz with barely 50 degree (c). 70 percent fan when I upgrade my aircon to 15k BTU and run it at 24 degree (c). It's over 65 degree when my new aircon isn't turn on so cranking it up can make a real different in gaming.
