Is this a good sensible build? (done by O.P.G)

My classmate Ong Poh Guan aka Karen put this parts list together for her pc. She does housing development and design for work doesn't game too much. 

 

Use - (CAD design, tinker cad - 3d engineering design, 3d printing,editing )

Intel i7 10700 K(not overclocker) 

CoolerMaster Hyper 212 black edition 

Asus TUF Gaming H470M - Pro (wifi) 

G.skill Sniper X 3600mhz (cl16,18,18,36) (8gb dual sticks)

Toshiba 7200rpm 4tb hdd 

PowerColor Radeon 7 Limited edition (got it second hand) - undervolted

Well I don't know the price of the 3700x but it's still probably cheaper and better for a workstation.

for workstation ryzen 7 3700x or 3800 XT is much begtter for workstation.

So she'll get a worse product for more money?

That makes as much sense as deep sea astronomy...

 

Anyhow, get a Ryzen 7 3700X or 3800X. Or even a 3900X. The cost of the cooler needed for that got i7 will make up the difference.

 

Also, get a decent board and a 1660 card. That R7 GPU is ancient and won't work well

It ain't that old lol and I don't think the 3800 x is coming back they'll probably bring in the xt variant.

Both variants exist independently.

 

Anyhow, R7 GPUs haven't been produced since 2014-2015 and they were low end even then. She won't so any work on it I am categorically certain

I know they exist independently but the shop probably won't bring in both and the 3700x. If you suggest the 1660 I'd rather get an 5600xt about the same price.

If you can, then yes, get the 5600 XT and get a 3900X. Again, the i7 makes no sense at all for the use case and considering the power draw and heat it kicks out
