What wifi is this board supposed to have?

I noticed this motherboard has a wifi antenna bracket at the back. In the  overview it mentions it supports m.2 wifi but it is sold separately. What m.2 wifi is it talking about? I checked the asus website and did a quick google search but only found m.2 cards with no antenna to go in that bracket or m.2 cards on a pcie card.

Never heard of that but I would not buy a Wi-Fi board buying an expansion is cheaper and better

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Please try searching up the answer before you post here but I am always glad to help

thers is no onboard wifi. You need to add a m.2 card to have wifi supported. It looks like you need to get the antennas and cables aswell if you get a wifi card.

Id probably just get a board with wifi onboard or just get a pcie wifi card.

The metal piece is probably there because they couldn't be bothered to take it off from the Phantom Gaming AX, which is pretty much what the Pro4 is - a PG without the WIFI.

Regardless, avoid Asrock's Z490 boards.

To directly answer your question, it uses an M.2 module (B key I think) to add wifi expansion. Also just generally I would hold on for 4th gen Ryzen

Im pretty sure its a and e keys, those are most common for wifi. B is normally sata + pcie x2 for storage.

Z490 chipset itself has support for built in WiFi,  It’s the Intel Wi-Fi 6 CNVi that can be used with something like the Intel AX200 wireless module.
