eh on that, yea if it just for a spare it could be ok
but for another choice. any of these would be better then a onn

the lg and one tcl is almost same price but better tvs (especially the lg)

the rest are in the 300 range and the samsung is the best of the lot

oh and all the tvs on the list support vesa mounts

Hi LinusTechTips Community,

I am planning to get another TV for a guest room and have a budget of $400 to $500 USD max for the TV and for the stand. My other TVs such as my Samsung PN51E530 have a stand in the center of the display while I am noticing that the newer ones have two small stand pieces on opposite sides of the TV, this may cause the need for a larger stand which I would like to avoid if possible (compare the stands of the images of these two TVs if you aren't sure of what I mean).

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

There’s always wall attachment.  Tends to cost some money.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Unfortunately, I can't mount the TV to the wall. Is there any way to buy a different style of stand and install it onto the TV?

There are vesa Mount stands as well.  They can stand or clamp.  Tend to be more expensive than wall ones.

Thank you for the suggestion, I looked through a lot of them on Amazon and a lot of the budget ones appear flimsy and the good ones are way out of my budget. I think that it would be a cheaper solution to just get a larger stand.

This is the TV which I am planning on getting:    https://www.walmart.com/ip/onn-58-Class-4K-UHD-HDR-Roku-Smart-LEDTV100018971/946069020wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla51320962143&wl5=9009996&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=946069020&veh=sem&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5-n_zO6p6gIVC-DICh1LbQgLEAQYASABEgLarPD_BwE

Which one of the following stands would work best for this TV?:

The key feature with aftermarket stands is they generally use vesa mount and vesa mount comes in different sizes so you need to make sure things fit together.  Also some TVs don’t have vesa mounts at all and that needs to be factored in as well if you want to use one.  As for

the tv you linked is pictured on a wall which implies there is a vesa mount but I couldn’t see one on the back.  I did not see a vesa mount size mentioned in the link.  It’s possible none of them fit because there is no vesa mount.  There might be though.  I can’t tell.  Might need to go to Walmart and open the box to know.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Thank you for the recommendations, the LG one says that it has a direct backlight while the others say that they have an LED backlight, does this make any difference in the picture quality?
