Memory OC Spectrix D80 3600 CL17

Hey fellas,

 

today I got my pair of Spectrix D80 3600 CL17 and I managed to put them at 14-14-14-28 3600 1.45v, but the aida scores doesn't seem right:

Shouldn't the latency be lower than that? Power Down is disabled.

Latency on Ryzen is higher than latency on intel.

Theoretical max bandwidth for 3600MHz memory is 57600MB/s so your results seem a bit low, maybe the secondary timings are really loose? 

 

Latency looks much more normal tho

seems low, my 3600mhz cl18 has similar latency

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't common knowledge that 1.45v is safe for b-die? Even 1.5v?

Thanks for the heads up, I had changed the primary timings and the motherboard did the rest. I just put tRC at 40 and tRFC at 288 and managed to get 53655MB/s.

it would be at it's limit  in terms of voltage 

if you can't do these timings at 1.4 keep it at 1.45

Yeah, at 1.4v the MOBO won't post.

 

Just got a 66.6ns latency now with tRC 40 and tRFC 288. What would be better in general, 3600 14-14-14-28 or 3733 16-16-16-36?

that would depend on how high the FCLK could go

generally 

3600 would perform better but the higher frequency will require higher FCLK ( if the interconnect can achieve it )

I have another kit with 3600mhz cl17, successfully overclock fckl and ram to 1867 and 3733 CL16 respectively. Now latency is 65.2+-1.ram.thumb.png.a26abacac82d652e9a46b8a9e4209407.png

its better if you download typhoon and export ur ram xmp, then import it into dram calculator to calculate the value yourself. Your kit might be better than mine since my pcb is on rev A0..

yeah seems good, now try memtest to see if its truely stable/ error free

Configured two instances of memtest with 2gb, one of them just past 100% with 0 errors and the other is at 60% also with 0 errors, is it enough?

Funny enough, i tried the setting u using rn but got higher latency. 65.7 vs 65.2

 

 

does ur test take 40 minutes? Thats the one i would do to make sure its stable

Around 30 minutes.

 

Here I'm getting 65.9-66ns, think its enough to reach 155fps in multiplayer games like BF1, BFV, COD MW.
