using 2nd gpu for 2nd monitor

I had recently bought a radeon hd 5450 for 8 quid of ebay so i can use my second monitor, as my asus-b450 m-k only has one dvi port.

so i put it in and when i turned it on plugged the monitor in and installed the drivers, nothing happened, no display on other screen, also it had uninstalled the driver for my ryzen 3 2200g.

thanks hope someone can help as i have been spending all day trying to fix it

Are you sure it's not dead? Or was used with mining or something ? 

Use your apu with the GPU plugged it and check if it's at the very least detected

I would recommend just buying a VGA to DVI adapter. A lot simpler.

device manager detects it, one driver uninstalls the other one. (i think)

It may have been used for mining, and so it would have a mining optimized firmware.

Mining cards can't or aren't made to out put to a display 

Flash it with a consumer firmware just in case it might have been flashed with a mining one

Who would bother mining at all? I sold a used GTX 1060 for a profit a while back so I guess I shouldn't complain.

 

Have you tried using the HD 5450 as the primary and only display? IE unplug the monitor from the iGPU.

the problem is that if i have both monitors i can't play my games because i wont have drivers and the games will be slow.

Could be a configuration problem then.

Edit : I have double checked and from the looks of it it auto does it 

But checking won't hurt

Take the HD5450 out and install new drivers for the 3200G. After that, plug the HD5450 in and just run without drivers for it. It's just a display output, Microsoft basic driver will get it rolling
