3500 vs 3300X

No difference in price in my local pc store. Which one is better?

3300X imo. I'd normally take the extra real cores over SMT but having all the cores on a single CCX will give the 3300X the edge in tasks like gaming for example, where latency is key.

If you're only gaming 3300x if you wanna do anything slightly more multithreaded 3500. At 3600mhz ram id get the 3500 tho.

Disagree, the multicore score is the same between the 3300X and the 3500 yet the 3300X has the latency advantage.

They are same but 3300X is slightly better for gaming.

What is the use case? I'd prefer the 3500 myself for all round uses. Even for gaming, I wouldn't think the difference would be enough to pick the 3300X unless that was the sole focus.

I find very few content creators considering 3500 or 3300X. Maybe beginners.

Gaming is better on 3300X, especially considering the price.

OP did say these were the same price in their local store. The extra potential of the 3500 is why I'd pick it.
