What router, if I need one. At&t fiber

Hey. So I'm getting a new fiber connection next month and want to upgrade my network while I'm at it. Unfortunately the ISP is AT&T. I fought with them in store and on phone, but they don't allow you to use your own modem. You must use their modem/router combo. I've read online you might be able to force it into a bridge mode although it isn't supported. I don't trust their device at all, but should I put up and use it as is and just connect it to my switch, or should I try to bypass it and hook a ubiquity router between the modem and my network? Below is a map of my network.

ATT U-verse? Which is fiber to a node and then copper to your house, or direct fiber to your house? I believe U-verse tops out at ~400Mb down and 25Mb up? And direct fiber is ~gigabit.

If it’s true fiber to your house, yea you can’t use your own modem, I don’t know why you wouldn’t be able to use your own router and out theirs in bridge mode or DMZ mode.

If it’s U-verse, I have used my own router before... I hated u-verse and dumped them like a pile of burning poo, but I was able to use my own router.

Just get a reputable brand that can support the speeds you want.

Quick tip: the speed you see on the box is actually all the bands added up, so a tri-band 3000 would probably be something like 400mbps@2.4ghz + 1300mbps@5ghz + 1300mbps@5ghz

CPU: Intel core i7-8086K Case: CORSAIR Crystal 570X RGB CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO RGB Storage: Samsung 980 Pro - 2TB NVMe SSD PSU: EVGA 1000 GQ, 80+ GOLD 1000W, Semi Modular GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X 8G RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4 3200mhz Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E Gaming

I believe direct fiber to house because they are advertising 1000mbps up and down.

Unfortunately AT&T uses a ONT/Router combo. Doing the "Pass Thru" mode thing is the only way to get around it. For the record none of the Fiber ISP's allow you to use your own ONT as you can't really buy one at the store.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
