Custom loop - worth it?

If I will buy first strong build in the next gen, Its not safe if I will try to building my first custom?

I dont know if they worth it because maybe I can got other better hardware If I not building custom.

So what you think?

You prefer the design of the custom? or you think that AIO cooler with GPU has more beauty?

Custom only worth it if I have high-end specs? like RTX 3080 maybe...

Custom Cooling is literally only for people that just have a ton of extra cash that they dont mind spending. Air cooling is Safer in terms of Points of failure, basically the only thing that can fail in a Aircooler is Mounting it properly, and the fans. AIOS/Custom cooling has many more points of failure from pump failure, Leaks, Tubing choice, Coolant choice, Cleaning the loop and maintaince.

AIOS are prefered due to cost, Custom loops will run you a LOT of money.

During Shipping (if you buy prebuilt) you can easily have leaks. Other then that Unless you just use normal Distilled water, you will have to do regular maintenance (every 6 months or so) to make sure everything is running as it should.

Custom loop is really expensive, performance wise not that different from a top $50-80 air cooler.

Have many failure points that you need to constantly monitor, tube leaks, radiator fan and pumps.

Those failure may not be as visible as a dead air cooler fan, and might be catastrophic like when water drips that will instantly kills your mobo / gpu.

Only if your looking for the looks.

No because it can ALWAYS leak. After a month, a year, two years etc

If you want good cooling but have not a huge budget get an aircooler

if you want good visuals get an aio

if you want the best cooling and have too much money get a custom loop

i‘d get just a big high end aircooler

To err is human, human makes mistakes. So there's always a chance of leaking, no matter how slight it is. Also, you'll need to replace the water every six months or so for maintenance. So if you have 0 experience building a custom loop, you'll have to call that someone to do the maintenance for you every six months, which is not convenient.

50$ or 80$ aircooling not are the same performance of custom.. have huge differences.

Also, what chip will you be using? There's no need for custom loop if you're not using something like a 10900k or 10980XE. A 360mm AIO or a NH-D15 will be enough to cool almost any CPU in the market. As for the GPU, any good brand GPU with good cooling should be all that you need, if it's not enough, you can purchase a custom bracket from NZXT and a 120/240mm AIO to cool it, provided that your case has enough space.

If it is your first time building a PC then I do not recommend a custom loop. The initial cost is a lot higher and at any point they could leak. If at any point a part needs to be replaced it is 10x harder to remove from the system, and they require maintenance. Money is likely better spent elsewhere. Get an air cooler or AIO.

Don’t need top end hardware for water cooling. “Worth” is subjective.
Even with low end hardware I’d like to go back and play old games, doesn’t mean I wonna hear an amd jet in my case.

I can try to build the custom loop alone for the first time? on my next build.. and maybe I will purchase the parts..

or recommend that professional one build it for me?

because a high end air cooler will give you the same amount of performance for 1/10th the price with 1/10th the time spent and 1/10th the potential problems that WILL arise eventually.

In most cases you'll get nearly the same temperature as high end air. That's why most overclockers go from air to LN2 and skip water altogether - it's pretty pointless as the benefit is minimal for the hassle and liability.

Judging from your response, it looks like you've made up your mind on spending money for custom loop from the beginning. Why bother asking in the forum then?
