How in the world is the tecware phantom so cheap compared to other keyboards but still not appearing to cut many corners?

No Cherry MX switch = cheap.

Brand image and arguably quality.

They cost pretty much the same i think in terms of production cost.

Chinese generic keyboards usually have cheaper clone switches like outemu, kailh, gateron etc.

because germany and great name companies need to cover r&d and production costs

than for chinese clones its cheaper to get production costs and R&D

a sennheiser g4 wireless 945 cost nearly 1000 bucks but total worth the extra costs for a great wireless system

It’s the name. cheaper switches like Gaterons or kailh box are generally better.
