Nova play wireless headphones - scam product?

Hi LTT community,

I usually don't write or post things online, but yesterday evening my girlfriend showed me a celebrity advertising discounted wireless headphones and it seemed fishy to me. I need help people spreading the word to stop this.

The story was published on instagram by @kyliejenner (apparently a big celeberty in US), not sure how one can see it if not using the Instagram app, and the person is advertising "Nova Play" wireless headphones with 70% discount using a promo code. Nothing crazy here.

It started looking more fishy when I saw the website and it said free shipping worldwide and the headphones cost only 39$, and that they have 150k happy customers and the website had only 5 star reviews.

Then I tried googling for reviews of this product - nothing, not even a picture in google images. This is odd.

Then I checked the who.is of the domain name "nova-play.com" and it is registered on 31st of April, only 1 month ago. Interesting.

All of their social media pages have post not older that 4h of May, and in some social platforms like Instagram all the posts are made on 4th of May. Even more interesting.

Tried searching online the company name that is listed n their website and also didn't find anything. Something is not right.

At this stage it looks either they managed to get 150k customers in less than a month, or this whole product is fake.

I need the help of this community to either tell me that this is a real product, or help spreading a word about this fake product so that people don't get scammed.

Thank you all!

It’s coming from Shenzhen China. If you go to parcelsapp.com (global tracking website) and type in your tracking number, it shows the exact location and time of any tracking number. Idk...

Also a good lesson to not listen to Instagram influencers especially fashion people for tech advice . These people get paid look at what other things she's reccomended and been trash. She's making bread and that's her job our job is to look at that and look at people who know what they are saying and not getting paid off by companies to say those things

It isn't a scam if you get a working product they are delivering a product that you paid for it's not a scam if it's bad either. Grade a capitalism right here. It's a scam if they say they are airpods and give you another product then that's a scam. What they did is just an ass hole money move

Also probably a good idea to setup a PayPal account and not trust any semi shady site that doesn't use it.

I thought that Kylie Jenner would not advertise a scam and ordered.  Does anyone know how to get the money back?

Do you really think she cares what she promotes? Hell, her sister promoted Fyre Festival!! That family only care about staying relevant and making money, don't forget what made Kim (and the family) famous in the first place.

Like I said from the start, I don't know if this is a scam but I do know the products will be garbage if you receive them and you are quite gullible for purchasing them.

Hi all!

i came across this forum and thought I’d just let you know I received my nova play headphones today and they seem fine. The quality is very good for £35 and the sound is great. I don’t know how long they will last for lol but just thought it might reassure some people.

So. I ordered a pair of these Bluetooth headphones a couple of weeks ago. i figured it would take some time to receive due to the pandemic. It did, I just received them today.
However, I emailed them the other day due to why I hadn’t received them, and they emailed me not even a couple of hours later confirming where I could track my order.
I picked them up today, and I tried to connect them to my phone, and only one headphone works. I plugged them up to charge thinking maybe one of them was dead (not sure). Just took them off charge and it’s still not working.

i sent them an email, but it says on the site that you can not refund due to opening the package. I am hoping that maybe it was just a glitch & it will start working. But this was my experience.

Hi!

So, I ordered these as well after Kylie hypnotized me into buying them.  I’ve never ever impulse bought tech like this before, but like others that purchased, I had good faith that she wouldn’t scam her millions of followers and risk a lawsuit over a scam. I ordered them on May 26th and got them today, June 12th. I was paranoid and believed I wouldn’t get them after receiving an email saying there could be a delay through usps. Since the 26th, I had been trying to track the package through the recommended “shop” app which was useless. It gave me a tracking number that when entered into usps, it said that the product hadn’t even arrived to the mailing facility...I then used the other suggested tracking site, Colissimo, which brought me to a French tracking site. It showed me nothing. I was honestly shocked that they showed up in the mail and that they are good quality so far. I watched the YouTube video that was mentioned earlier in the comments and he’s really not wrong. They’re just a dup for AirPods and work fine. I’m not sure how sustainable they’ll be over time, but for $40, they’re great. Pairing was easy and the sound quality is good too. I did not receive the extra “supporting” features that make the headphones fit well while working out. The process was sketchy and I only worry that they’ll just become bad overtime.

I just got mines today June 16, after ordering on May 26, and honestly after seeing thus page after l ordered them, l thought they weren’t gonna come at all but they came with everything in the box, and the quality is good, and both head phones work well and connection is not a problem but k do hope they continue to work! Though l don’t know if the charging system is fine because the headphones said they were low in battery but when l plunged them on the charger it shows a green light which means they are full, but ll just have to see
