it won't increase FPS. Given you have a 2080 you already have the hardware onboard and games can't use it.

Hi guys,

 

so I was wondering if having a 2nd GPU for only Display out to my 2nd monitor, where I sometimes watch Youtube while gaming, would increase my FPS since the 2nd GPU would *maybe* handle the hardware encoding.

 

Alternatively I thought of buying a 2nd better GPU to handle NVENC encoding for streaming.

Does anyone have experience with one of those things?

I have 4 monitors and having them all has no (or almost no) effect on gaming. :) Try using a program like MSI Afterburner to see if you can find any differences in utilisation when you have just one monitor plugged in, versus two. :)

Ah, so the video decode does not use the same resources as gaming?
