Rx570 & Ryzen 3 2200g Underperforming

Please help, I don't understand why my PC is underperforming so much. My cinebench score is 1311 which is pretty close to the other systems of the same specs in the results which is 1344. I also checked gpucheck. com and it shows that my build should have no problem running games like battlefield 1 at 1080p. However my PC can barely run it, the game is barely playable, i get around 25-30fps at 1080p, even on low settings the game is not playable. I have tried different version of drivers with no improvement at all. Even GTA V which is a pretty old game by now struggle to reach 60 fps at high settings and sometimes dipped to 27-30. Even league of legends, a game that should run on onboard graphics can barely stay constant 60fps on my pc. In most of the games i've tried my cpu usage is constantly 100% except for league of legends. I've been told that it could be because i'm running a single channel RAM is that true? Could that really cause my PC to run games this badly? And some say that my CPU is the problem, so should i upgrade to a ryzen 5 2600 and dual channel RAM? please help!

• Asus ROG Rx 570 4GB
• HyperX Fury 8GB single channel
• Asrock a320m-hdv r4.0
• Coolermaster Masterwatt 550W
• 256GB western digital SSD (boot drive)
• 1TB HDD western digital

 

Edit: Yes, my monitor is plugged to the GPU not the onboard hdmi port.

are you sure you are using the gpu and not the gpu in the cpu?

plug the monitor cable in the gpu so it uses gpu, otherwise it will use the igpu

yes i am 100% sure the monitor is plugged to the gpu.

No, you have to select RX570 in settings, or else it will use iGPU

The 3200g has an iGPU so you can use the RX570 or the iGPU. By default, it might be set to iGPU

Also, install the latest Chipset driver from AMD. Not just the GPU driver.

it's the single channel ram. you're also probably running it at 2133, not  it's rated speed.

I'd start by checking you have xmp enabled in bios, to get the ram to run at the proper speed.

i'd update bios(asrock website) and chipset drivers(amd website).

if all this works, and improves your performance, you could also add another stick of ram

i enabled xnp and the Memory frequency switched from auto to 2666mhz and now my games keep crashing.

XMP can cause crashing, in this case the only thing you can do is disable it.

Just disable XMP

ive done all this and still the same. XMP caused my games to crash so i disabled it. So i'm back to square one. sigh

Disable XMP, see if it works. Once you have figured out whats wrong, then look at upgrading

If you're running a single stick of ram (single channel) then you are basically crippling performance.

 

I used to play bf and gtav on a similar system (r5 2400g with a rx 570) and had no issues maintaining 60 fps...something seems very wrong here.

I have one extra stick of RAM but its not a hyperX one. I tried using it along with the hyperX with XMP disabled, both were running at 2400mhz. There was no difference in performance. Should I just by another hyperX stick?

You should be able to run the ram at its rated speed....ryzen cpus are finicky though sometimes. You may need to manually set the timings using typhoon tool. Im not an expert with this, but others may be able to help with that part.
