Simple car cam for police/traffic stops?

does anybody know of any camera product that has a simple start/stop record system to record interactions between drivers and police for liability reasons?

Depending if it's allowed in your area, a smartphone would do the trick. Also most dashboard cams will activate once the engine is running. I know there are some truck cams that also have multiple angled cams for the interior and exterior of the vehicle, but those are both expensive and you need a permit afaik. Most have voice activation and movement detection and will also upload the footage to the cloud, so you will be watched everytime you drive, with speed and all the other data transmitted to your friendly untrustworthy cloud provider.

Did you have bad encounters before? 

In theory a gopro mounted right could be activated as well with a the press of a button.

Was hoping for a more discrete option where they can’t just take the footage and delete it.

where are you that cops are taking footage and deleting it?
