Should I get a x570 motherboard

I'm thinking about getting a 1600af and upgrading it down the line. And pairing it with 3200 ram or faster. And the cheapest graphics card that can play Ark survival evolved at 1080p. And I would probably go used, if I can find something with good performance under $100 otherwise it would get something new.

Then upgrading the cpu and ram, and building a second pc with them.

Should I wait for cheaper x570 boards, or should I get a b450 board, and when i upgrade the cpu, just get a cheaper x570 motherboard then?

The b550 looks promising , not yet available though.

not sure what others are recommending, but the only issue with the b450, for the time being, is that it won’t support the next Ryzen iteration. If you are fine with maxing out your upgrade path with the Ryzen 3xxx, then it doesn’t really matter.

the x570 is overkill for most. Also, always check the reviews for whatever chipset you plan to go with.

I went X570 because (If I'm still working at the time, at least) I plan to replace my 3600 with whatever the 12-core flavor of Zen3 is, plus Nvidia's RTX 3000 series cards will be PCI-E 4.0

If you need it now, then buy the x570. Honestly i would just wait for B550.
