Make it so Windows can't control mic volume

TastyGuava

Windows 10 has been killing me with how it adjusts mic volume even when I have every option I believe to be off, it still adjusts my mic ruining my mic quality and it's been rather annoying more recently since I'm trying to work from home and play comp games with friends. Is there a way to fully disable Windows and any program from adjusting your mic volume all together? I want to just keep it at 50% and that's it.

Windows does not automatically change your microphone volume. This is determined by the application you are using -- which ones are you having issues with?

Launching some COD games and CSGO and then a new site I'm working for called UserTesting all these apps adjust the mic volume on the Windows audio settings and causes issues with all my apps, plus I have exclusive control off.

In that case, I'm not entirely sure. Turning off Exclusive Control should have resolved the issue for you.

Have you tried setting "When Windows detects communications actively:" to "Do nothing" in Sound Control Panel > Communications?
