Hello! It is I, a new person

After watching Linus Tech Tips since 2015 I have finally decided to take the plunge and join this forum. So hey everyone! I’m aubigeek. My brain is hardwired (no pun intended) to be into computers. Why? I’m autistic, and computers are my single biggest special interest! Don’t worry, I can communicate just fine so don’t be afraid to chat with me! I just might not understand your sarcasm and/or take you very literally. I built my own gaming PC in 2015 with the help of Linus’s videos. My other hobbies include gaming of course, as well as international politics, Spanish and German studies, music (I sing and play piano, and I listen to everything from EDM to alternative to rock to punk to metal), and theatre. Feel free to hit me up for a chat, I’m always down to talk tech!

Right now some of my favorite artists include Panda Eyes, Sub.Sound, TheFatRat, Waterflame, Go! Child, Imagine Dragons, American Authors, OneRepublic, The Script, Coldplay, The Score, A Great Big World, Twenty One Pilots, Jonathon Coulton, Meat Loaf, Rammstein, Steam Powered Giraffe, Iron Maiden, Sabaton, and Nightwish. Love TheFatRat. Sabaton and Rammstein can get me going too, I've been venturing further into the realm of metal lately mostly due to those two bands.

Yeah, my boyfriend started getting me into the metal genre and those were two of the first ones he introduced me to, aside from his favorite band Iron Maiden. He's a die-hard fanboy for them XD

I haven’t listened to Imagine Dragons in way too long.

 

I really like some Rammstein songs, but I haven’t listened to all of their work yet. 
 

I haven’t listened to much Iron Maiden come to think of it, I should listen to them more.

 

I like “Bat out of Hell” by Meat loaf, only song I can think of from them I remember listening to.

 

I’ve listened to a few Nightwish songs. Liked Nemo and Ameranth.

 

but Sabaton, Sabaton is probably my favorite band. I think I’ve listened to more of their songs than any other band.

I really like the historical aspects of their songs, Joekim (lead singer) said something along the lines of “why would we make up new stories when there’s so many real ones that we shouldn’t forget?”

They even have a YouTube channel that tells the history behind their songs.

In my observation, most of my friends with types of Autism happened to be some of the smartest kids I know.

There's a thread called "What are you listening to now" where you can share music.

A cool YouTube channel is "Sideways" where he talks about music theory. He mostly talks about music in TV shows & movies which I find interesting. I'd recommend watching by upload date as he references topics discussed in earlier videos.
