Accidentally clicked Phishing link...help with antimalware

Leasud
Go to solution Solved by The_russian,

I use malwarebytes to scan for malware. Personally I would backup important files to another drive and do a clean reinstall of windows.

So i pulled a dumb dumb and fell for a phising link. Already changed passwords and am running windows defender but wanted to know what anti malware programs I can use to really make sure my PC is clean. Thanks.

Malwarebytes

install spywareblaster too, it will help keep you from going to websites like that in the first place

Malwarebytes has an extension for most browsers that does that.

spywareblaster is not an extension and is more of a supplemental program to whatever anti-virus/malware program you are using to help prevent the user from becoming infected

but anyways, it works with just about every browser

Internet Explorer
Google Chrome
Mozilla Firefox
Netscape
Seamonkey
Pale Moon
K-Meleon
and browsers that use the IE engine, including:
AOL web browser
Avant Browser
Slim Browser
Maxthon (formerly MyIE2)
Crazy Browser
GreenBrowser

I'll still take Malwarebytes over it, personally.  To each their own.

I have always used both.  They are entirely different types of programs

First off, we're not here to debate that.   So, please don't lead this to a derailing of the thread.  And, I never implied that they were the same.   Two, OP has already done all they needed to.  So, I don't see a point in continuing this.

Yeah I think I have this under control. Thank you both for your input and recommendations.
