Dude in my COD clan says he has 500GB ram sticks. I told him that's BS and server RAM doesn't even go up that high but he says he has specialized RAM which I know exists but I don't think he can game on that type of RAM. Yes? No? Or is specialized RAM with 500GB just sheer BS?

500GB RAM is bullcrap.

32GB DIMMs are 'just' now getting on the market (TridentZ DC).

This dude does not have 500GB RAM sticks.

Either he is:

- lying

- talking about MB

- talking about his storage

- multiple of the above

If he is telling the truth, I can't imagine how much money he wasted buying that if he just uses it for playing games. I don't know that much about RAM though so I couldn't tell you if he's lying.

I mostly speak from my own past experience from similar problems. My solution may not work for you, but I'll always try my best to help as much as I can. If you want me to see your reply, make sure to quote my comment or mention me @WaggishOhio383, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Consumer CPU cannot do 500GB of ram. Only server CPUs can, can ask him what CPU he has to see if he's telling the truth or not. Also have to consider on dual sockets, they can do 4TB of ram.

He claims it's not consumer

Well, not strictly pure RAM, but there were those server persistent RAM modules that were part SSD and RAM like the Sandisk ULLtra DIMM that got axed.

There's also those Intel Optane Persistent RAM sticks, but also not pure RAM.

To be fair, claiming you have 500gb of RAM is a classic COD move
